Psoriatic arthritis on little toes, RA or something else?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'll start by adding I have been diagnosed with primary Raynauds disease in the past, so I'm used to circulation problems and discolouration in my extemeties. Although I'm confused by this new symptom which I believe to be a joint problem as well, the large bumpy looking part feels hard yet somewhat soft , and my other toes are almost always a reddish pink colour. it's not a blister and it is not painful at all . I would provide a picture but I do not know how. Anyone who is knowledgable on autoimmune diseases progression such as RA and skin conditions like psoriasis/fungal things would would be very helpful thank u!

Edit: meant to say the main symptoms are on my little toe, mostly on just the one foot.

Hey, would it not be better to go back to your GP and seek medical advice/clarification?  I have psoriasis, but there are numerous different types of it.  The type of psoriasis that I have experienced on my scalp is different to that on my legs.  Also, psoriasis is excerbated(?) by stress and stress can also play a major part of a flare up.  Could it be the start of a corn?  I guess it would be really hard for someone on here say what is wrong with your toe, hence suggesting going to see your GP.

    Good luck :-)

Yes I plan on going back to the dr soon, just so sick of these dr visits for Various things. I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada and the doctors here aren't always so knowledgable. Also forgot to mention I too have psoriasis of the scalp diagnosed already, so may ask to see a dermatologist instead for better advice on all this. Or a rheumatologist. Here you literally have to ask to see specialists it's not offered in most casessad

I had/have psoriasis on my scalp, and do most of my family particularly on my maternal side. That wasn't great but managed it with shampoo and creams. Not it had appeared elsewhere, and it took a while, several months of trying different creams from my doctor to then be referred to a dermatologist. The next time it flared up, the referral was much easier.

Stress has a lot to contribute too! And I have had a rough couple of years.

Also have arthritis in my fingers and they can't be certain that it's not PA. thankfully there were rheumatoid markers.

So yes, could possibly be psoriasis but best to get it checked out
