Bleach baths!!??  Oh dear!  I have also been through the years of covering my skin in cream and clingflim, I feel for you sad  I am completely clear now!

I was in constant flare up for 15 years, my arms, legs, face, scalp and back were covered in red, hot, raised sores which bled and itched like crazy; I didn't know what to do with myself.  I was prescribed Dovonex which worked but I had to apply it morning and night, which I didn't always do...  But if you want something that works that definitely does the trick, but the doctor will have to prescribe it for you, the ointment is best.

THEN, I got Psoriatic Arthritis and was in severe pain almost immediately after diagnosis (couple of months).  I was prescribed Methotrexate and when that didn't work I was put on biologics (very expensive) Entenercept also known as Enbrel and Methotrexate and my skin is now completely clear and I have no Psoriatic Arthritis!  After years of misery it is quite amazing!  But you'll have to go to a dermatologist to get on such strong medication, but it's life changing!  I thought my skin would never be clear, and it looks great!

I hope you're able to find help xx

Hi have you been to dermatology. They sent me to light therapy and though not an easy treatment at least I felt that I was getting somewhere. They continue to keep an eye on me are are available on the end of the phone. Go and see your GP or phone and request a referal.

You may need a DMARD to get a grip on the autoimmune response.  Best to see a rheumatologist.

    Hi Dai1968,

I am so sorry to hear about your situation, I really feel for you, I used to do the same thing with cream and clingwrap but it stops you going out and it's so messy!  I've been there, but really, really I strongly urge you to get a referral to a dermatologist!  There is definitely more help for you than you are currently receiving!  Doctors get it wrong, they are just human and if your GP is refusing to give you a referral to a dermatologist then go to another GP!  That is your right.  I had to change GP's too!  I was told there was nothing that could be done for me, how wrong they were!

Please, please get a referral to a dermatologist,  you don't have to live like this!  I know you said the drugs caused you problems but there are new ones becoming available all the time, they can juggle the drugs so you have the best quality of life and you don't have to struggle anymore.

I hope you are able to get a referral soon, and get the relief you deserve!  Big hugs!

    xx
