Psyllium Husk a good sign?

Hi all, I've been having loose, gassy, mushy stools for 6 weeks, always had upper problems. Been to drs, examined me, weighed, going to do full blood count in few weeks. He said it is likely my anxiety and IBS in interim but very reassuring that returns to normal with pysillium/fibre. Would appreciate others take on this please. Thanks all

Increasing fibre can bulk up stools but it can make diarrhoea worse. You will have to try it and see how you go. Pysillium can lead to a lot of gas and bloating too.

Yes I am already on it and it's brilliant. If it were anything sinister would the fibre make any difference?

Fibre is good to make up bulk in your stools. Wholemeal bread can help as can Oats, in the morning for breakfast. Wash the skin of some fruits and eat then the skin will also help as would a bowl of whole meal at breakfast time will help. Put some fruit in your cereals at breakfast time. Five to ten portions of fruit and vegetables will also be good for you. You can also supplement some of your breakfast cereal with various seeds like sunflower will help in the long term

Thank you for your response and suggestions. Do you agree with doctor that anything sinister would not make a difference with fibre?

Possibly correct, although it would make your stools a better texture and would help with digestion

IBS Can be a side effect of Anxiety. Hopefully with fibre and Pysillium stools will recover
