PT After Peroneal Tendon Surgery

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi, I just wanted people to generally give me an idea of how early they start PT after a peroneal tendon repairment surgery.

Today I went to get my stitches removed (14 days post op) and my nurse mentioned that I should start asap and not let it delay. Since I am using NHS this means it sometimes can get delayed or I need to contact my hospital to "remind" them of scheduling me for PT.

Thanks!

I started as soon as stitches were removed. The first couple weeks were just ROM to get the ankle moving again. My surgery was last June and I finished pt in February.

Pay for outside physical therapy if possible I would recommend finding someone who specializes in “strain and counterstrain physical therapy”. It has worked wonders for me...Good Luck!
