Pudendal nerve block questions

Have had prostate/epididymal pain for a year, but Dre' s not painful like in past episodes of infectious prostatitus. So I'm considering whether it could be nerve related. Had l1/ l2 nerve block which did nothing. Slated for l5/ s1 block next. But urologist said yesterday he could do epididymal block ( which wouldn't address prostate pain). He also said that for penile surgery he does pudendal nerve blocks in alcocks canal, and that we could try that. They are transperineal and unguided ( no cat or ultrasound). Pudendal nerve involvement could explain all of my symptoms and pain. So it's either that or the l5/s1 block. Anyone ever try a pudendal nerve block? Think an unguided block would be safe/ maybe effective? Thanks

Roll Tide. You can get to the Cleveland clinic? What you waiting for?

Went to Cleveland clinic on Tuesday. They don't do transperineal biopsies. But they were all l gung ho to do the biopsy and yank the prostate asap (dr Stein reminded me of Jerry Lewis, tho he may be good - he is the head of the urology Dept.) But they are also referring me to a guy there who specializes in prostate pain issues. Finally maybe someone who will take me seriously. hoping to get a cat or ultrasound or MRI pudendal nerve block. Or anything that will by process of elimination find what ails me pain wise. The biopsy in a whole other issue, but I'm probably going to cave and get the transrectal fusion biopsy, esp if my PSA next week has risen from 9.5. finally I'm getting some action , for good or bad.
