pulling sensation in lower left quadrant

Hi, has anyone ever experienced a pulling sensation in there lower left quadrant with diverticula? Its not constant, it comes and goes and seems to ease off after being more regular with bowel movements. Its like my muscles are strained or tearing. Its not painful, more like a discomfort. I dont feel anything in my abdomen when i touch it but I have a CT scan on Thursday which im nervous about as i have no idea what this could be, but was curious as to if everyone else had experienced anything similar.

Sounds like adhesions to me. They are the internal scars that can result from having had pelvic or abdominal infections, bleeding or especially surgery. These adhesions can sort of glue your organs to each other or prevent them from moving around freely and can cause all kinds of problems like pain, constipation and that pulling sensation.

I also thought that could be a possibility as i had a C Section with my son, but he is almost 5, i would have thought scar tissue would have caused problems before now though.

adhesions don't go away they just get worse and they can be common with c sections which is major abd surgery. sorry to say

I spoke with my doctor and he also thinks its scar tissue from my section, he said that scar tissue can cause problems months or years afterwards. He also said there isn't anything you can do for it other than cauterize the adhesions which could cause more issues down the road. So i guess i just live with it

i'd get a second opinion. i had a lysis of adhesions in my thirties that lasted almost 40 years. is this guy a surgeon?

How would that be diagnosed? What kind of tests would find it? He is not a surgeon no, he is my doctor who was present during my section but didnt perform it himself.

What did you do to treat yours and what kind of symptoms did you have?

sometimes they can pick them up on an abd CT. in my case, because i met the criteria (previous abd surgery, pain, constipation), they just went in laproscopically, looked around, and released them. this is REALLY something you should be discussing with an abd surgeon - someone with lots of experience operating with a laproscope. it's actually not a huge surgery and it's relatively common.

Yes nothing showed up on my CT except for diverticula. My doctor mentioned referring me to my surgeon who did my section to discuss it with him, i think that will be something that will get arranged going forward. You said you had your adhesions for 40 years before getting treatment?

don't know how long I had the adhesions but they were only symptomatic for about 5 years before i had the surgery. at the time i was in my early thirties.

After the surgery i was symptom free for about 40 years, i.e. now.

Well that good you never had any issues after your surgery. Did you feel the pulling sensation that i described? Did you have any other symptoms from memory?
