Pulmonary hypertension and night time coughing

Dear All,

My dad is 72 years old. He was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension in 2001. Back then our doctor said that his condition was stage 1.

During winter time coughing is a problem we cannot seem to solve. It does not allow him to sleep well. During day time he is mostly quite with intermittent coughing. At night it is sometimes very very difficult to handle.

We have tried vaporiser, sleeping in an armchair and a host of drugs. Nothing appears to be a decisive solution. December to March period is awful, after March it is as if none of that really happened.

If there is anyone out there who can possibly help us, we would really appreciate it.

Have a lovely day.

    Hi

He could try a natural approach such as Manuka honey, he could also add some organic lemon to it, or he could try the herb peppermint. All of these are good for controlling coughing.
