punch biopsy care

I Tara, so sorry for your pain.  Believe us, it will get better soon.  Use the bath soaks in the soda and borax and moisturizers.  We are all here for you, you will feel better soon.

Hi Tara, Sorry that you are having a lot of pain.I was told insistently to keep the wound dry after my punch biopsy. So I just rinsed after weeing and kept it otherwise dry. I didn't have a great deal of pain although I was given plenty of codeine and paracetamol to take if needed, but only used it for the first couple of days. I was the same later when I had a sore area removed and it improved very quickly. Does it look healthy or might you have an infection do you think? You may need medical advice and pain relief. Hope it gets better soon.

Thank you both for the kindness.  It seems to be healing nicely with no signs of infections.  I think the fact that the scab feel away cause some of the intense burning.  I took a bath in baking soda and sat for like 20 minutes and that helped so this morning when I woke up and went potty, there was no burning.  

I purchased a lil spray bottle to put the solution in to use during the day.  I am tempted to try borax but so afraid to do it incorrectly.  

I know that this too shall pass and the best thing I have done thus for is join this group.

I wish I had words of wisdom for you. I remember my biopsy like it was yesterday and it was 5 years ago now. I took a bath and that soft scab fell off and I ended up in the ER because I couldn’t wee because of the pain. With a little pain meds and warm water it still hurt but the pain meds made me not care. It took me about a week to not notice the pain anymore.
