Pupils barely dilating and constricting

my son is super sensitive to light including computers...outdoors without his sunglasses he has trouble finding his way..his pupils are not functioning properly. Doctor did a pupil test by flashing a light in his pupil in a dark room and they dont close and open with light shined upon. it tries to close and open with the light but barely..currently his pupils are dilated so thats why he is super light sensitive.

he has been to his eye doctor they check his eyes, back of his eyes etc and they say he is fine but they cant figure out why his pupils dont dilate and constrict.

i also took him to a well known chiropractor to check his nerves etc make sure they are working and he also didnt find anything ....this is the doctor that the pupil test in the dark room and said to do a adrenal gland fatigue test..sometimes fatigue adrenals wont let pupils work properly.

if anyone has any input please reach out...

Has he been like it from birth? Its rare but it can be inherited. Ask your family and the mothers family if anyone else has had this problem. If Yes, then its most probably a gene.

Does your son have a diet with plenty of Vitamin D? Is he out in the sun a lot, which is the best way for the body to make Vit D. You could try giving him extra Vit D by mouth in capsules to see if it makes a difference but increase the dose gradually to 600 iu and absolutely no more until you have had advice from your doctor.
