Purple knuckles and finger numbness. 25 years old male.

A few years ago i had an injury involving my shoulder/back and elbow ever since i've been experiencing discomfort and numbness all through my left shoulder down to my fingers. It would come and go and was never to severe. For a good amount of time i went to physical therapy but that never really did much. Last week I went d to get an EMG scan and I am still waiting to here back on the results. After the procedure I experienced soreness in the meaty part of the back of my hand, inbetween my thumb and index finger, and for the last 4 days my index finger has been constantly numb and my knuckle has been purple. Could the doctor have further damaged my nerves during the EMG? Does anyone have any suggestions on what is happening?imageimageimage
