Pus coming out of ear

Hi,

For about 5 days my left ear has felt like it has liquid in it. When I put my finger in it is covered in a white pus which has a slightly fishy smell. When I hold my nose and blow the sound coming from the left ear is like a badly tuned radio noise - and people around me can hear it. I assumed it was an infection - but the really strange thing is that I have no pain whatsoever! When I wake in the mornings the ear is all caked up.

Any ideas what could be going on? About 6 months ago I had the same ear syringed as I it was blocked with wax but that is the only problem I have had with it.

If there is a fishy smell it could be a fungal infection of the ear canal when you will need an anti fungal.  Ask your pharmacist what they think.

You need that ear looked at asap, cannot stress how important it is to keep a close watch on your ears. Please don't blow your nose too hard ,I don't think the increased pressure does it much good. Discharge suggests infection even without pain.

Thanks for the comments. I have been to my GP and she has said that I have an acute infection - but the ear drum itself is fine.

I am on Co-Amoxiclav for 7 days now.
