Puzzling Pain

Posted , 2 users are following.

For several months I've been having weird pains in my chest, shoulder, shoulder blade, collarbone area. The pain is like a sharp, shooting pain between my shoulder blades. My left shoulder burns a lot. It sometimes feels like my collarbone is stinging and has an "itchy" feeling. I have a "tightness" in my left chest area, too. I've had xrays, scans, ekgs, bloodwork, etc... I've been to the chiropractor recently too. All my tests and labs "look good." My quality of life has diminished greatly. I constantly feel like I'm dying. I cry all the time. I can't function like this. sad Anyone know this feeling?

What is your gender and age? That will help me give you an opinion.

You don't fit the pattern of some of the diseases that I am familiar with which is probably why your doctor hasn't come up with anything either. Has anyone checked your heart other then an EKG? The shoulder and shoulder blades are a common place for women to feel a heart ache.

I'm going to give you the names of three diseases or conditions that you might want to look up and see if by chance it fits you. Try polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), fibromyalgia, and Costochondritis.

Also please go see a cardiologist if you have not yet. You need to rule out a heart problem and a normal EKG is not enough of a check I my opinion.

You also didn't mention anything about fatigue. Are you having any problem with that? What about rashes? What about a general feeling of yuckiness like you've got the flu?

And finally, it is possible that you have strained some muscles and your anxiety has made it all worse. I know that anxiety can cause a tightening in the chest area. That's how my anxiety presents. Not with the pain, but pressure in my chest.

Good luck to you. Do some research on Dr. Google for those diseases I mentioned and see if you come up with anything.
