PYRIDIUM

Hi, has anyone tried Pyridium from the pharmacy for pain in the urethra? I have so much pain that at times I cannot sit as the pressure too much - also painful when I wee and have severe abdomen pain but not all the time - I have tried many things but none work for me?

Regards

I found Azo to be mildly helpful for post-procedure pain. However, I would caution anyone who takes it to read the directions carefully and not take it for more than 3 consecutive days. I read that a potential side effect is urinary retention. Unfortunately I read that after it happened to me and had to be on a catheter for a week.

    When was your procedure?

It was in 2018 April my flow has become better and I am on self cath daily. Its hard and painful because in the beginning it was really nice and super fast flow but in a month it started decreasing and I was told to self cath.

Thanks for the warning - think I will avoid it. I had an op 18 months ago for bladder cancer and then BCG treatment which I am sure did the damage. I was then given cystitit treatment to heal the bladder wall but still same old same.
