Q; Are long term impotence drugs actually excacerbating your problems?

I would like to start an honest and frank discussion as to the possible effects of impotence drugs such as Cialis and Viagra.
Do you feel that since using these medications your errections have improved or deteriorated?
If you have been prescribed these long term, do you now need to take a higher dose to achieve the same effects or has taking the medications improved matters so that they are no longer required?
What unrecorded or additional side effects have you experienced?

Did not experience the need for any higher dose. Actually cutting the dose, reduced some negative side effectes suchs as head ache but of course the med cleared system faster.
Unrecorded side effects experienced: Eyesight improved in the 1st 1-2 days of use, then eyesight turned blurry aorund day 4-6 and Almost back to mormal after 2 weeks.
More energy for workouts. During extreme workout such as mountain biking up hill, definitely experienced more energy with extreremely and abnormal, hard pounding, heart beat. Legs ached more than normal up to 1-2 days after workout.
The most negative consistent, unrecorded side effect was an agressive "quick temper". Becoming, noticeably angry over situations, which wore off as med cleared system. Actually learned to expect this - in an effort to counter this effect.
Some of the earlier active ingredients did not effect eye sight at all. But after some of the inegredients were changed eye sight became more immediately effected. There are some meds that did not effect eyesight (non mainstream brands) but still give excellent results. I cannot identify the actual meds or changed ingredients so please don't ask. Hope this helps.

Speak to your GP with your concerns, and please, do not feel embarrassed.
Thousands of men of various ages experience a loss of libido at some stage in their lives and often a simple lifestyle change or a blood test to determine the cause is all it takes.

I suspect that (age, in my case) has contributed to my lack of libido also my wife's R.A. is, for her, physically debilitating - although many 'old men' do continue into ripe old age with a high sex drive.
What really interested me was another chap who said he had masturbated regularly (often 3 times a day) to the accompaniament of porn. He then went on to say that, at the age of 30 he married, and, to use his words, his cock went limp when attempting penetration. It made me wonder if, while watching porn, he became more excited by watching the man's actions and genitals than the woman's which, often, is less demonstrative. As a former Counsellor (not necessarily in matter sexual), , I think that a lot of what you have to contribute makes sense. Psychological problems can be dealt with given time. I wonder if the use of Viagra and the like are short term palliatives. Wasn't there a 'scare' some years ago that Viagra had an efect on the heart?
