Question

I have seen some posts that bring up cmv and I am unsure on information about that. My mono blood test came back very high about two and a half months ago but I am still doing back w all of my symptoms.

-headache

-lightheaded

-blurry vision due to dry eyes

-racing/irregular heart rate (tachycardia)

-shortness of breath

-fatigue

-brain fog

-indigestion

-dizziness/imbalance

-low grade fever

-chest pains

-stiff neck

...and the list goes on and on.

so my question is does anyone have similar symptoms? I am going to an infectious disease doctor through the mayo clinic to get answers. I am bed ridden once again and miserable. support needed!!!!

    Hi Christina

Also at 2.5 months here. Yes, your journey is very similar to mine. I was bedridden again for a week after recovering slowly.. I think i did too much (which sounds silly because I barely did anything but OK crazy body and virus)

Now I have shortness of breath, fatigue, fluey body feeling, bloated stomach, and headaches. So, judging on the similarity of what we are going through... I think you and I should be safe to assume this is just mono doing what it does.

How are you coping mentally? Do you have days where you accept what’s happening and then days where all you want to do is cry and pay all the money you have to just feel normal again? Hang in there, I am always here if you want to vent or need to share your worries. This has been a very distressing experience.

I could have written this part ‘Do you have days where you accept what’s happening and then days where all you want to do is cry and pay all the money you have to just feel normal again? ’. EVERY SINGLE DAY lol

Hang in there Christine.....I felt exactly the same during the virus. We take things so much for granted when it's all going well, I'm as guilty as the next person. Just want you to know that there is hope and I do still fully believe in your recovery - just deal with one day at a time and don't look too far ahead is all you can do, and don't beat yourself up because this virus just floors you for a time but then your body resilience does come back - it really does and will!

    Hey Christina,

Yes many of these symptoms were ones I experienced when going through the virus, reminding yourself that these kind of things are normal when you go through it (unpleasant as it is) and that it does get better is something worth doing as often as you want or need to. So sorry to hear you've had to be in bed, if you can even do things in bed which help take your mind off it a little even be it reading, or listening to the radio / music, watching tv or whatever. Distraction is good too. Remember you ARE going to get through this Christina, Van is right the guys on the forum are here for chat whenever you need to and remember you're not alone - God is going to heal you completely I totally 100% believe that, and you will look back and say that was such a terrible time but feel so happy and free to be out of it - those days will come Christina, they really will. But just don't look too far ahead for the meantime, one day at a time.

I don't know much about all the medical side of mono, my understanding is that the virus EBV is the main culprit for the cause of mono but there is also a virus called CMV which can be the cause too.

Thinking of you and hang in there - one day at a time and be kind to yourself today, rest and just remember it's okay to relax and rest just now as your body needs recovery.
