Question about blood in stool.

So for about a week now I've been seeing a few red pieces (not streaks or dots) in my stool that somewhat resembles blood or partly oxidized blood. Without extra light they are practically not noticeable and I didn't notice the first time until I was in a very well lit bathroom.

It hasn't changed the color of water from any of the bowel movements. I do eat a lot of vegetables like tomatoes and red bell peppers.

Is it most likely the skins or partly undigested foods that are red or close to red? Or could it possibly be blood and worth mentioning to my doctor. (He is on vacation until September and every other doctor I talked about about other conditions have been reluctant and unhelpful in the past).
