Question about borax and epsom salt

Hi! I’ve tried borax in a concentrated solution using a cotton pad to apply- does anyone experience dryness to the skin?

Also for a bath- A few people here have talked about putting borax and baking soda in a “sits bath” - But does anyone just use it in a regular bathtub? Meaning can the rest of my body be exposed to borax if it’s a part of the bathwater?

And finally- is it ok to put epsom salt in the tub as well? I know epsom is good for sore muscles but not sure if it will irritate my vajayjay.

Basically, I wanna take a bath and want to know what to use! Thanks all

Hi Lynn! You can use it in a bath, you’ll just need more if it’s a full tub versus sitz bath. Some people use 1/4 cup and I’ve heard others using more. I’m super sensitive so I use less.

I also put Epsom salts and baking soda in with. You have to test amounts,  everyone is different. Shouldn’t hurt to have borax water in the tub for the rest of your body, most say it just makes their skin softer.

I used to do the cotton soaked pads but somehow the soaking  is more soothing.

I’ve only recently started being faithful with soaks, fingers crossed.

    Best to you!!

I use baking soda and Epsom salt and avenno for the itching in my water 2 times a day and it's really helped me. Plus I usually make enough when I gontinkle I can rinse myself where if I have a sore it don't burn it. I hope this will help you.

    Hi Lynn

I don't soak in it I just apply with a cotton wool pad. I leave it to soak in and then 15 mins later I smother in coconut oil. No irritation. I rarely get flare ups these days. The best is ive started to un fuse :-). I thought I had some sort of growth growing on my vag but now realise on close inspection with a good light and mirror I can see that it's the start of unfusing! I have an appointment with a Dermatologist and Gynae in October so I hoping that is going to be confirmed. This has all been happening in the last month. I started using Borax in June. I have it quite concentrated but not thick. That is the only thing new that's been added in the last few months so I'm putting the Borax down to unleashing my labia lol. I'm not bath person myself so bathing my vag daily twice a day with a pad works for me. I eat a low carb no sugar diet and enjoy my wine with dinner at the weekend. As soon as an itch starts I swipe with the borax and dap a little tea tree over the affected part. For me my itch is always the same place top left labia majora. I have never used any steroids. Swift action sorts it quickly. Good luck with it all Lynn. xx

    Hi L

I'm 80 years old.  I used CLOB after having LS confirmed.  It was used very sparingly, first two weeks just a pea size applied.  It started to thin the skin which made me stop.  I then read about 20 Mule Team Borax.  I boil water, 1 cup and add one Tablespoon and mix while still hot.  It will turn clear by mixing .  Let it cool, Place in a spray bottle which I use after each time I pee.  After spraying   I apply CARAVEE Healing ointment, on a Q tip to keep the area moist.  It doesn't stain but it is like Vasoline. I have been using this for about 4 years and it has helped considerable.  .Caravee is over the counter at drugstores and was subscribed by a skin doctor.

My big problem is STRESS, when you get stressed it.  I'm 80 and also have it in my mouth,  Dental M.D. put me on a script that I rub on gums and then spit out, helps a lot.    Hope all of those in Hurricane areas are keep safe, ours was last year.

I use 2 T baking soda and 2T Borax in my baths and try for twice a day but always once. I notice it does help with the itching especially if I have had too much sugar.
