Question - about low serotonin

Hi everyone. Having read a lot of people's messages, I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on the question 'do you think we all suffer from low levels of serotonin' ? Is this why we are all suffering from anxiety? I've tried antidepressants and they cause insomnia! Now I don't take anything apart from B vitamins. Help... X

sometimes i wonder if it has got anything to do with serotonine at all. I've been struggling for a long time and tried so many different meds. and am still struggling. Googled since it was made possible to check on everything...
there are a lot of different ideas and it has never been proven that "we miss something in our brains that can be "re-stimulated by a ad pill.
The mind boggles.....
let us know if you find out more. I for one am interested.

Thx for your reply. Yes it baffles me too. I am determined to make myself better without meds. I have now introduced magnesium and also progesterone cream (not sure if you are male or female lol) but for me it could be hormonal. For three hours this morning I had I would say mild anxiety thankfully it's eased now but jeez I feel so low when I get it. I will report back soon with hopefully progress x

I'm female and old.. where do you live?
Is still take my a.d/anxiety meds at a very low dose....started magnesium, vit B complex and Omega 369 a few weeks ago... thought it might be helping but as today is not good....maybe not.
Drink lots of water, try exercise, keep yourself busy, not too much junk food etc.etc. I am useless at taking my own advice....
check out the "calmclinic" they have some good tips.

I am female, 43 from Berkshire. I am taking the same vitamins. I've been looking up progesterone cream, as pre menopause can cause anxiety. Basically this is what I tend to do, I need to find out why I'm feeling like this. I have no other pre men symptoms but it's a possibility, have you ever tried the cream? Xx

female, retired..
I have lived in Holland for more than 40 years but am still very British.
I never went through menopause as I had a hysterectomy when i was 32.
Long time ago and they didn't bother with hormone therapy then. Sometimes wonder if that could be why I have been having problems the last 14 years.
I can't help with the progesterone cream, I googled it and would myself be wary if I was trying it without medical advice.
I will struggle on and hope that something I try will help but get very discouraged when I often feel so ill and tired.
