Question about red rash

Hello everyone. New guy here. I’m posting because I would like to try and get some answers about something that happened late last February. I am a 29 year old male who has never had unprotected sex, or any history of STDs. I have only had sex three times. I had a protected encounter last February, and later that month I got a weird red rash on my scrotum that lasted for about two weeks; it wasn't scaled or bumpy in appearance or texture. There was no peeling of the skin or bleeding, nor were there lesions, warts, discharge or blisters of any kind. There was also no discomfort or discharge when I urinated. I did not have any flu-like symptoms, aches, pains or chills. I treated it with a topical cream and once I started doing that it cleared up very quickly. So far there have been no recurring symptoms since the rash cleared up and I’ve been feeling fine ever since it went away. Does this sound like a fungal infection or something more serious? I would be grateful for any assistance; I was going to go to the doctor until this whole coronavirus thing kicked up.
