Question about support stockings

Posted , 2 users are following.

When I had some surgery in hospital I was given support stockings to reduce risk of DVT. Now I’ve got DVT and wear them during the day but advised not to wear them in bed at night.

Question: surely it’s best to wear them all the time? How come it’s OK to take them off in bed, when hospitals encourage wearing while in bed?

cheers

Never wore mine in bed, best to put them on before you get up though. They should not be worn in bed, it can be detrimental to the circulation if you have a DVT but post surgery sometimes to prevent a DVT you may have to wear them.
