Question for those who actually have it.

I know everyone is different so for those who actually have it.

What were some of your symptoms that you experienced?

How often are your outbreaks? how long does it take for it to heal?

When dating how do you bring up that you have it?

i had sex in Feb 2 days later i begin getting headaches, fatigue, nausea, and pelvic pain( i thought i was having really bad period symptoms. i had the same partner for years, i didnt think anything of the symptoms.

at bed time my leg would feel hot or tangly kinda feeling of restlessness/numbness... fast forward into april i met someone new

i had sex and felt a little bit of soreness after..checked my lady parts and seen a herpes like sore. because i seen a herpes looking sore i asked to be tested, the sore went away quickly.

    My IGG1&2 came back positive

    . IGM1&2 came back negative

My doctor reports the infection was atleast 2months old . thinking about everything i went through in Feb i believe my infection started then.

mentally i still feel terrible months later.

i dont get outbreaks often only when i am causing myself emotional stress...crying a week straight has given me an outbreak. Paper cut like cuts. just feels really dry coconut oil helps. lasted a week

still havent gotta anything on or around my mouth

& the wound is too new, i dont date since it still hurts to have this conversation.

Ive had it for 2 years and my life has been lonely and depressing. I dont know how to bring it up to a girl without thinking theyll run away and treat me like a leper so i havent tried. Stress makes me have outbreaks and i drink pretty often and have pretty bad mental health after losing family members. Its a terribly confusing and lonely road to be on so i found this forum because im so tired of being alone with this pain

I got it three months ago and honestly my first outbreak was absolutely horrid but I'm not on medication and haven't had an outbreak since. I saw all the things that can trigger an outbreak and I definitely do all of them so idk why I haven't gotten another outbreak. I recently got surgery, I'm a college student dealing with loads of stress, drink 4 days a week, do blow and smoke and somehow have been fine even though these are all triggers. My first outbreak though I didn't have any a fever or anything just sores.

    Hey.

I’ve had hsv2 for nearly 3 years now. At the start I found it really hard. My first outbreak was so painful and traumatic for me. But I found the mental side of things much worse.Like I was almost grieving for myself. I told my sister and two close friends as I couldn’t have got through it alone (neither of them cared). I went to 3 doctors and tried to get as much information as I could and also found a little community on Instagram 🥰.

I decided to wait 6 months to let my body build up some antibodies prior to taking suppression. I got 9 outbreaks in this time, all very small and in one area ( my first outbreak was very were). After the 6 months I went on suppression for a year. This helped so much as I was outbreak free and could focus on the mental side of things. I stopped suppression feb 2020 and have had 2 or 3 outbreaks since none at all were bad. I know my body and signs now so can usually can stop them in advance. I’m fairly open with my status most people know it about me and I don’t really care any more 🤷🏻‍♀️ half the world have it! Obviously I’ve come across people who don’t want to be intimate with me because of it but no more rejection then I’d usually face! always happy to chat if you need 😃
