question on screw position and pain

I had bunion surgery about 6 months ago. I have a sore area on the side of the big toe that feels slightly hard to touch. I had to have a screw out on my other foot after the same operation...but that appeared as a hard bump on the top of the foot. My question is can a screw migrate out the side of the big toe after surgery.?

Would be really grateful for your thoughts.

I don’t think a screw can migrate or unscrew itself. I think your body doesn’t like the hardware. I always have to get mine out. My body eventually starts to reject the metal. Idk why it does that. It’s annoying to go under to get it all out but it always feels better after. My toe is constantly red and warm. No infection. My body gets annoyed.

Thank you for your reply. The last screw I had to have removed had one turn left in it and it popped out the surgeon said. I could see it and feel it from the skin. It was a lump where the old bunion sat. This time my foot feels sore at the side of the big toe and I wondered whether this again could be something that needs removing?

That’s so crazy but I guess anything can happen!  The only way you’ll know is to go back and get an expat. Annoying I know
