Question on skin under eyes and sunken eye sockets

Hello all, I haven't been on here in quite some time, but the bleph is flaring up pretty badly again (not that it ever goes away, grrrr!) with winter around the corner.

Both of my eyes are no only constantly stinging and physically hurt (and water, that is maddening!) but now the skin underneath where the "malar" area is constantly swollen, especially in the mornings, and looks absolutely horrible!  On top of that, both of eye sockets, but especially the left side, looks completely "collapsed" they are so sunken in.  Not even makeup can cover it as the skin seems to be a completely different texture here and under my eyes.  It makes me feel so ugly on top of having to deal with the rest of this mess.  Does anyone else have this issue and how are you dealing with it?  I have tried icing, I have tried, warm compresses (don't work for me, nothing seems to work), baby shampoo scrubs, etc.  AS for drops they evaporate very very quickly and I am back to square one, it is so depressing to deal with this, I feel it makes me look "sick" or something as my eyes are constantly in pain, watering, swollen, etc.  BTW, it WAS diagnosed by a doc as bleph a couple of years ago, so I know it is the lovely (NOT!) condition that is to blame.  Any and all feedback would be MUCH appreciated!  I tried the Wet Ones, they only made the skin around my eyes VERY VERY dry and more pronounced wrinkles, crinkles, name it, so I stopped using them.  Thanks in advance for any advice, since this creeped in on me, I feel like I have aged at least ten plus years as my eyes are a mess!

I know your frustration as I dealt with bleph for 20 years - I have to reiterate the Wet Ones option.  I had used baby shampoo eye scrubs, oral antibiotics, Tobradex ointments to name a few with some relief but the bleph was still always lurking and making my lash line red & itchy.  I am so grateful for LInda's persistence in posting about this option and my good fortune to stumble upon it with google searches.  The Wet Ones seems to have made my bleph disappear.  I would tear the wipes into little strips and wipe my lash line morning & night.  Within a week my eyes felt so much better.  It has been about 2 years now (I think) and I am still amazed that I am not dealing wth this issue after so long.  My lashes look great and my eyes are never red.  You may want to give the Wet Ones a try again and throw in some other varialbe that may mitigage your sensitivity (I did not have that problem).  Perhaps washing your eyes with just water & moisturizing an hour after the Wet Ones use would lessen any effects.  Good luck to you!

    Hi Tina22168

i too tried the wet ones and these made my eyes worse (I am in the UK) the wet ones here are not the same as the USA..... I know what you are going through only this morning I was at my doctors and got prescription for  antibiotics with infected bleph .....mine flared up while I was on holiday about 7/8 weeks ago and I got antibiotic drops from a chemist in Barcelona .....  Worked very well but since then I am on my 2nd lot of antibiotics and I am so fed up.... I was at my eye clinic 3 weeks ago but because the bleph wasn't there at that time she didn't want to know...... I bought blephasol lotion today (£10.99!!!!!!) and am going to try this with cotton buds for the rims of my eyes as I already use the blephaclean wipes.... (These have been very good , also expensive but I now get on prescription..) am hoping the lotion is as good......

i do feel for you and know exactly how you feel......I am sick of people asking if I have been crying or has someone thumped me......!!!! It's making me feel so down.....am hoping the meds help to shift the infection at least .....

The Wet Ones have been the only treatment that worked for me.   Thanks to Lynda, I am having no problems and it has been over a year.  My optometrist fortunately is proactive and open to new things.  He was amazed that my eyes look so good and when I told him about the Wet Ones, he asked for a sample to share with other patients who have not been able to conquer the Bleph.  It may not work for everyone, but it has been a blessing for me.

I really feel your pain Tina. I am also suffering from bleph and have tried the Wet ones for about a month now and unfortunately they are just not working for me. I feel like I've tried everything and nothing really seems to work. I am constanly searching the web for a new solution and will let you know if I find something that works. Hang in there!
