Question or Concern About Haemorrhoids

****I'm gonna have a Haemorrhoid Banding in a few days.

And well i have a concern, and question, and i dunno if i should be worried or not.

I've never had a Banding so... my Concern is this.

Once i have it banded..... and it falls off... Should it cause stool issues.

Such as... will it clog up my colon causing me not to be able to pass any stools?

And is this even possible? Like i said... i have never had this happen... so i dunno what to expect.

    Hallo Shadows. Hope you have been given lots of info about this procedure and recovery.There will be a little pain and you will be given lots of pain relief, so dont worry about that. As you already know, the haemorrhoid will shrink and then fall off like a scab.No, it wont clog up your colon as it will pass out of your anus with the first motion after it falls off. The main and most important thing to remember is not to get constipated and you may be given stool softeners to take orally. Dont know where you are in the world but you will need something like Fybogel in UK, or a medication with high fibre content. If nothing is mentioned ask your consultant or nurse for recommendations.
