Question, please help.

So, since June, I have felt a strange, what feels like food or something lodged in my throat. I use to smoke e-cigarettes like Juuls for about a year prior, with no smoking history before that other than cannabis. I shortly after stopped smoking e-cigarettes. Fast forward to now, I started realizing that one of my teeth in the back of my mouth was forming a major cavity, so potentially thought I might have an abscess that was affecting my sinuses. My ear constantly feels like there is pressure in it, and my throat feels blocked on the left side. So in retrospect most of whatever this is feels like it is on the left side of my face. I haven't noticed anything with vision, just my ear and potentially throat. I went to a doctor back about a month ago, got antibiotics and finished them, but it did not really help much. Yesterday, I went to a dentist to get X-Rays and a dental exam. He found a few cavities, and a root canal, as well as gum disease along my gums. I got the big cavity filled, and one other major one, as well as a laser treatment on my gums to rid the gum disease which he said was pretty minor. But they found no abscess within my face that would be causing sinus infections or whatever I am feeling. My question is, does anyone know anything about what might be going on, and with my gum disease treatment, do you think that could be a potential for why i've felt like something is lodged in my throat, and or the pressure buildup within my left ear?

    Hi Ryan,

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling this way and have been having so many problems, however I'm glad to hear you that you have quit smoking e-cigarettes. Good for you! Smoking can be detrimental to tooth and gum health, as I'm sure you are now well aware. Hopefully your dentist has been able to get things under control with your tooth and gum health since you posted this. regarding your other issues, if you are still having them I would definitely seek out an appointment with an ENT as they know much more about what could be going on with the ears and throat, especially if you feel like there is something lodged in there. They have special equipment and cameras which can further inspect the areas. For issues like this I wouldn't wait or put off seeing a specialist as wait times can sometimes be longer than we would like unfortunately. Good luck and keep us posted!
