question re colors

called a computer tec. because noticed the lights on modem were yellow -- before cataract surgery they were green -- tec says no, they are still green.

I know you don't see colors correctly before surgery - but why am I seeing them wrong after?

Wow, that is unusual it seems to me.  What I noticed after my surgery this Monday was that whereas everything was sort of tinged yellow before the cataract surgery, now it is clear and bright (and sharply in focus) in that eye.  If I look thru the eye without the new lense  (mono lense), it is tinged a tad yellow (I have a cataract in that eye).  I hope someone else has answers for you.

hello and thank you for your reply.  How are you doing just 4 days after surgery? so surprised you can use the computer - I have to sit right up in front of the screen to see - how do your eyes feel?  are they "scratchy"? soon as I get up in the morning everything feels wonderful - but an hr. later my eyes ache, feel gritty & tired ?

when will you have your 2nd eye done?  mine isn't til January- my eyes have always been "dry" think that's one of my problems tho my Dr. hasn't mentioned it.

Well, my eyes are kind of dry but I think with winter and forced air heat, our air in the house is way to dry.  Plus I use breathrite strips which open up your nose at night and create very dry eyes.  So I have been using the pred drops they prescribed but also artifical tears to help keep the dry scratchy feeling at bay.  I think I shall hold off on my other eye as long as I can (a couple of years) since I am enjoying being able to be totally glasses free for now.  The right (non-operated on) eye is probably doing most the reading and I do have to hold the book about 2 feet away (perfect for riding the stationary bike at the gym!). Funny, about two months prior to my left eye cataract surgery, I noticed the left eye had zeroed in on things and I was able to read without any glasses at all.  That seemed odd but I was told by my doctor it is not unusual.  Yes, all and all I'm so pleased with the surgery.  As for my computer, I usually increase the size of things using the three bands upper right corner on google chrome (my browser) and also in the settings on my computer.  Just makes it easier.

If you use the computer a lot, may be you should think about what are called "interview glasses". They are a sort of near distance bi-focal and the top part focuses a bit further away than the bottom reading part.
