question regarding holter monitors

Hello, I'm going to the hospital to get a 7 day holter monitor fitted on, I was just wondering if you are allowed to exercise whilst you have it on? I usually cycle approximately 4 times a week and was just curious whether I can still do so?

thanks

    Hi

I don't think you can exercise while hooked up to the Holter monitor. How forte you get the ectopic beats ??

Hi, When you have a monitor fitted you have to keep a record of your activity of what you was doing at the time,  symptoms you are having, and at what time. If you are riding on your bike when you have symptoms you will have to stop every time you have a symptom.

When I had a 48 hr monitor, I filled the whole page and the back of it with my symptoms. If you are having a 7 day one I think riding a bike will be awkward. You can ask the person who is fitting the monitor though.

You are meant to carry on as normal. Usually they ask you to keep a diary of what you are doing. Cycling at 6pm, sex at 10pm etc.....
