i was recently diagnosed with HSV1 on my genitals. im really confused about a couple things. 2 of my doctors are telling the opposite of each other. i was wondering if anyone can clear some confusion. i understand how hsv is transmitted but since i have it genitally, can i still pass it through kissing, sharing drinks etc or is it just vaginal contact?

Hello, since you have it on the genitals it can only be passed vaginally but be mindful that if someone gives you oral sex they can end up with it orally. Well wishes.

to tag on to what they said. HSV1 transmission rates are veryyyyy low especially with anti-virals included. I would look into transmission rates for HSV1 its rare but no impossible to pass HSV1 genitally to genitally
