Can anyone tell me if you have cp would you have a constant pain? Would the pain come and go?would certain foods/drinks trigger it causing pain?would this be a pain after half and hour or couple of days?would the pain be dull or severe?left or right?

I've been told off several consultants if you have cp you certainly know about it and have been told quite categorically that you cannot go straight to cp without having had bouts of ap which you would definitely know about it.ive been told this on several occasions.

No matter what you read there's that much conflicting information it's unbelievable

Do u think it could be anxiety related? If I have drank alcohol it's not great generslly few days latet so have stopped that but not every time I've drank (wasn't a big drinker).pain now gone at moment but Im totally paranoid that it's going to come back. Sick of the whole scenario of getting nowhere.

I'm always told mine is anxiety related. It does seem worse when stressed and I'm in a very rocky relationship with 3 children so I do have bad bouts of stress. I've always suffered anxiety and health anxiety since childhood and used to have a very severe vomiting phobia until the worry of whatever I have now took over my life! Now that's all I worry about and stress about really!

I have CP and have those pains daily also. I cannot eat nuts of any kind or any kind of red meat The last time I ate a hamburger was October 2014 and within 3 hours I was acute and had a 5 days hospital stay. Some things just are not pancreas friendly. I guess it could be different for everyone. I also have to take 32,000 units of Creon before my meals to have those extra enzymes but still have the daily pain sad

I went straight to CP, never had an acute attack. I had pain intermittently for over 2 years and every test came out as normal. It wasn't until I had diarrhea for a month straight that they suspected CP. They then confirmed CP as a diagnosis with an EUS. After I had that EUS, I had constant pain for about a month. I feel that they caused more pain by doing that test. It's now 6 months past that and I feel pretty good most of the time. I have not had any alcohol and I completely changed my diet to include only natural foods. Cut way down on sugar, eating lots of fruits and vegs, and whole grains only. I eat very low fat, no beef, only fish and chicken. I think it's the diet change that helped me, however I have to take Creon with all of my food.

Nina did MRI of pancreas come back clear too? I don't get diarrhoea at all and am more the other way. My upper left pains been going on 7 years now and all my tests also clear. I also get told I would have acute attacks first before it turned chronic. Never had an acute attack.

Worries me how little GP's and gastro specialists seem to know about cp. they are adement I don't have it even though I used to drink a bottle of wine every night in early 20's for about 7 years. What caused yours if you don't mind me asking?
