Quetiapine

Has anybody been given quetiapine for sleep? I have RBD, RLS, depression etc. I am on benzos just now have been for 3year, and doc wants me to stop benzodiaspam just like that and goon to quetiapine, also I have been on tramadol Dr years, and will still be taking that. I am a bit worried about withdrawals from not being whined off them. I though the doc would have took that into account, plus I am not sure if it is the right drug for my condition. And if I can take with tramadol? Any ideas folks?

    Hi captain50117

I was prescribed Quetiapine to help me sleep back in December 2013/ early January 2014; has been ok except for the side effect increased appetite which in turn causes weight gain.

      Thanks Jane

What is bothering me is I have RLS, and RLS is a side effect. So that dosnt make sense to put me on them.

I found quetiapine the best hypnotic for me. All the Z drugs and specialised Benzos (Nitrazepam and Loprazolam) just make you tired enough to sleep, but don't really make you sleep.  In my experience quetiapine really 'shuts you down'.  I can get a good 8-10 hours even at low dosages. NB. You will need a Cl.Psych to sign-off the prescription within the UK.

what is low dosage as I just started with 1/2 pill, so 12.5 mg. Next day my left ear had ringing so today I might just take 1/4.
