Is there any known relationship between Polycystic Ovaries and RA?
Have been diagnoized for RA 4 years ago and was under sulphasalazine for couple of years. The symptoms were joint pain in the morning.. But later i discontinued the medicines and for 2 years the pain is under control.
Now that ovaries have cysts and periods are irregular, could there be any possible connection?

If a patient has both diseases, it's more than likely a coincidence.

The exact cause of PCOS is unknown, but it often runs in families.
"The condition is associated with abnormal hormone levels in the body, including having high levels of insulin.
Insulin is a hormone that controls sugar levels in the body. Many women with PCOS have too much insulin in their body, which contributes to the increased production and activity of hormones such as testosterone. Being overweight increases the amount of insulin your body produces."
Hope this helps.
