RA and its effect on vocal chords.

Has anyone had any experience with RA effecting their vocal cords? My symptoms include dry cough, hoarse voice occasionally, throat feels strained and tight. Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Yes it can, so can other auto-immune disorders like sjogrens, I go through the same things, it can all cause shortness of breath, sore throat,  you need to take a Nsaids if that don't  work a steroid get the inflormation down before it gets worse. hope this helps.

I have the hoarse voice and cough of a smoker even though I have never smoked and I also get breathless just walking upstairs, have been checked out nothing found so I think it's just one more effect of the condition.

I also get a sore throat and a croaky voice that lasts a few days then disappears. I’ve never really thought it was part of the RA but I will rethink that. I also get very breathless and they say I’ve got asthma but I’ve always discounted it because a puffer doesn’t really help. One think that’s been happening recently has been feeling I can’t get enough breath into me at night, I wake in a panic, it’s stopped happening again and I now wonder if that is part of RA too.
