RA and Trying for a baby

Hi

I am hoping to try for a baby in the next 4 months. I have RA RFactor Neg., Hypermobility, interactive thyroid and Pcos .I was on methotrexate and have come off it 2 months ago ...I want to be off it 6 months before trying .My question is I am in a lot of pain and recently had to take prednisone steroid to help with Flare. I am just taking anti inflamatories at the moment as I don't think I can take anything else prior to pregnancy .My GP wants me to go back to Rheumatologist but I think it's pointless at the moment . There's nothing else he ca prescribe me? Am I right ? Thanks for your advice

Hi Sinead, I agree with Joy you want specialist advice from your Rheumy and also maybe from obstetrician?  May be useful for them to talk to each other and  (and you!) to plan the best for you and your pregnancy.  Very best wishes. Carol

There's many meds that you can take while trying to get pregnant, and being pregnant. Mtx is not one of them. I'm also trying for a baby, my rheumy is going to start me on Cimzia. Dont waste too much time before seeing a Dr. Good luck!
