RA Dr.and cannabis

If you're pain is so bad, and you try a puff of cannabis, and it showed up in your blood test, can your RA dr. get rid of you? Sorry, sounds like a dumb question but I'm 68 and the pain gets so bad at times I'm ready to try anything. Prednisone didn't work, and waiting for methotrexate to kick in. Thank you.

If medicinal canabis is legal in your country I don't see why, I'd imagine they'd be interested in the results.

I tried CBD and had the worst experience ever!! I felt like I was out of my mind. There is some lotion you can try as well, but after that experience I'm hesitant to try any type of other drug. Doctors don't like giving pain meds anymore. You have to find a pain management doctor that knows what your going through. I get oxycodone once a month and is very hard to fill because they look at you like your a drug addicted. Good luck.

the two main ingredients of canabis are CBD and THC.   Canabis has a very high THC content and a relatively low CBD content.  THC is the ingedient that causes halucibations or gives you a high, CBD is the ingredient that is believed to help things like siezures.

Medical canabis has the same two main ingedients, THC and CBD; however, the The CBD content is very high, the THC content on the other hand is very low, so low in fact that it is impossible to get a high from it, even if you smoked or ate a truckload of the stuff you will not get high - not possible.   I would suggest the canabis you had was not medicinal canabis.   CBD usually comes in an oil or a tincture, it is not halucinatory and you cann't get high from using it.

Thank you Tony. I do not know anything about cannabis as you can tell. I have not done any of this, because I don't know anything about it. People just tell me I should try some so I can get rid of pain, and sleep. But I'm too afraid my Dr. won't treat me any more after he sees my blood test and I did some.I've never done that before and I really don't want too, but this pain can be unbearable at times. Thank you for explaining to me.

If it is legally available yet, ask your Doc if he/she can prescribe medical canabis, give it a try, you won't get high and you have absolutely nothing to lose.   In Oz medical canabis is now legal but can only be prescribed by a specialist, GPs can't.   Unfortunately, no specialists have applied to be able to prescribe it and it just isn't available.   Our govt has put medicinal canabis on the dangerous drugs list along with opioids and such, they seem totally unaware of the fact that medical canabis presents no danger to anyone and cannot get you high.   Stupidity abounds with our govts.

As I said somewhere else - they will only find it if they have requested that test.
