Mark, one thing about anxiety is that it can pop up at any given moment. You might be perfectly calm while eating food and suddenly there’s anxiety! Sometimes right when I wake up in the morning it’s there! I might not be thinking about anything upsetting me and then all of a sudden there’s anxiety!

It’s all about The adrenaline and eventually it wears off. None of it is harmful.

even doctors don’t know everything about anxiety. There is a hereditary component to it with some people. I believe that’s where mine came from because mine started when I was very young and I had a very happy life with my parents and siblings. There was no reason for me to have anxiety. Very strange.

So all we can do is try to manage it the best we can . I did get some counseling which was very helpful. I got to a point where I had to get really mad and decided that I’m not going to live with intense anxiety. I managed to turn down the volume on it to where it’s manageable now.

i hope you feel better soon. Just remember a racing heart is not harmful. Take care

There is definitely a genetic component to anxiety and depression.

I have it on both sides of the family. Couple that with environmental stressors you have a recipe for health anxiety and physical symptoms.

The mind is a very powerful thing which we still do not fully understand its capacity.

Ive had every test under the sun done for my heart and just about everything else and it always comes back to anxiety.

I have heart palpitations daily. Some days I only have a couple some days a feel a couple hundred. The key is to not react while they are happening. They tend to be a lot worse on days I am under more stress, I also get them after eating larger meals with carbohydrates.

Once all medical conditions are ruled out its time to work on acceptance of what anxiety and stress can have on the body, and identifying where stress lies in your life. Start actively working on reducing stress whether it be deep breathing, exercise, sitting in a quiet room, and let your body heal itself and return to homeostasis.

As long as you play the health anxiety game and continue to go down that rabbit whole, you will never get better.

rabbit *hole. And remember you are not alone. I've been dealing with health anxiety for over ten years and I have had some form of anxiety my entire life. My earliest memories I have I remember being worried and feeling different. Sadly I think it was genetic for me but you cannot use that as an excuse to not put forth the effort and work it takes to get better. Anxiety will destroy your life if you let it.

This happens to me also! I have tried to narrow it down and it seems like when i eat too many carbs or just a big meal in general it always happens. I've read that stomach issues due to anxiety can cause that. I have suffered from horrible pop up anxiety for a year now due to losing my Gma and Dad within 6 months of each other. The racing heart has been an issue every since! Sorry you are having issues and i do not have a great answer for you besides it happens to me too!
