From my understanding, patients are told their thyroid function will be decreased to normal function following radioactive iodine treatment. However, EVERY person I've encountered who's undergone this treatment becomes hypothyroid. I'm not sure why this treatment is recommended since it trades one problem for another worse one. I can totally understand why this doesn't make sense to you. It doesn't make sense to me either.

I too had iodine treatment & found out like 3 yrs later that I became immediately after so yes hun you go right into hypothyroidism right after…! How are you feeling otherwise?! Have you gain any weight ? Is your hair falling out ?! Mine fell off like crazy soon after😢
