Raging sciatica, nauseaous with the pain, any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I have bouts of sciatica for years, since about aged 52 I'd say but recently over past two years have piled on three stone and making strident attempts to get it back down and more.  This involves getting on my exercise bike daily to burn 150 calories, and morning warm ups of 100 knee ups and 50 arm swings.  Now its interesting to note I do not get the pain of sciatica when I am on the bike etc but two or three hours later when sat on my sofa or having gone to bed.

I'm trying glucosomine, high strength, its on order as that has helped before but anyone any ideas on what else I can do as I feel lilke bursting into hysterical tears as its so overwhelmingly intense, its all up and down my leg and even in my lower back.  Thanks, Fiona
