ramipril 2.5.

I have been on ramipril for about 3 to 4 months now. Started on the lowest dose 1.25. But that wasn't bringing my BP down. I have now been on 2.5 for about 2 weeks. I get the tiredness feeling all the time. My GP advised me to take it at night before I go to bed. But doing that I feel by the afternoon the following day that it isn't working right. I haven't had any other side affects. Although im currently fighting an reoccurring ear infection that I have suffered wither years. Which isn't helping my BP according to the doctors. Even though im on 2.5 once a day my BP still hits the 150 / 110 Mark. By tea time My heart rate feels fluttery and I can really feel my heart beating. Mostly dizzy at times but im putting that down to my ear infection. My Question is " is there any one having similar feelings and readings.

You don't say what your average readings are over several days. BP does vary throughout the day. Try taking it when you first get up and before bedtime. Hope you don't get the horrid Ramipril cough!!rolleyes

It is possible to have a "unit" attached to monitor your bp and pulse over 24 hours.

This will help present your current situation and should help your medical advisers decide what is best

    Ask about alternative meds.

    Best of luck
