Ramipril - Muscle pain?

Posted , 1 user is following.

I've been on Ramipril since December 2007 and as I hate taking anything new I was worried about it. Apart from a bit of lightheadedness I hadn't really noticed any worrying side-effects. However, I've now got really bad shoulder joint and muscle pain in my arms - feels like I've been weight lifting sad Also starting to feel \"not quite right\" but can't put my finger on it. Slight anxiety symptoms and sometimes face flushing.

I know I should go back and talk to the GP but wondered if anyone else has had anything similar? I've read most of the posts on here but getting mixed messages and no one seems to have mentioned arm pain.

Could be unrelated, I know but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I too have experienced muscle ache and light-headedness.

I have been to the hospital today and my dosage has been halved, mainly because my blood pressure had become too low. So it is a bit early to assess any changes.

But I can confirm I too have had muscle pain and light-headedness.

I have been on ramipril for years, but only 1.25mg they tried me on 2.5mg but that sent me wobbly & dizzy. So the GP said lets try perindapril 2mg It's supposed to be less troublesome. No that was like the 2.5mg ramipril. So now I am back on the 1.25mg ramipril but I am getting really achy in my joints and muscles and when I feel dizzy I generally find my BP is only 110/70 ish. What do you do? put up with it or chance another MI. My trouble is I'm sensitive to any drug.

Yes i have experienced muscle pain and lightheadedness. Also put on nearly a stone in weight within 6 months. GP has now put me on water tabs, already lost a couple of pounds within a week. Will not go back to Ramipril.
