Ramipril - sexual problems?

Posted , 16 users are following.

I'm on 5mg a day. I've not experienced any of the symptoms that anyone has experienced but I have had a few problems in the 'bedroom department'. Sexual problems are listed as possible side effects on other websites. Anyone else experienced similar problems?

sorry to hear that, that's not a great place to be. I seem to have stabilsed on the 5mg at 140/80 but it fluctuates. I've had some ups and downs in the bedroom dept so I had a go with Viagra which was extraordinarily successful which has put that part of the relationship where we wanted it to be. Down to 87kg weight and working to get to 80kg but I need to focus on diet more as I think this might have some impact on BP.

I am not all that upset about it. i am busy with other things and my GF lives about 1500 km away for the moment. I had tried viagra, it helped a bit but not entirely. I just don't have the interest. i am more than content to just cuddle. This is not fair to her though. I am going to discuss options with my doctor.

I wish you good fortune, things aren't going my way at the moment; the gf has so many issues we had to separate and remain friends which is a little frustrating as we just got it working.

Thanks. and sorry to hear that you are having issues. Mine started when I was with my ex. but there had been nothing going on with her for about 10 years so i didn't really notice. Been out of that marriage for a few years and NOW it is becoming an issue. The GF is very patient and understanding but I don't want her to suffer.

have been on ramapril for 7 years now and my ED issues started not long after.

discussed with GP who suggested Viagra and it overcame my problems but have now moved to Cialis as it has the same effects but lasts for 3 to 4 days rather than 1 day.

yes I had similar problems in that department. It did improve but I never achieved a strong erection whilst on 5 mg. I asked my doctor to reduce the dose to 2.5 and I have not experienced a problem since.

I must point out that before asking them to reduce the dose,I had managed to lower my blood pressure slightly by losing weight. I must say that the biggest drop in my blood pressure occured when I gave up eating wheat. I have maintained a pressure of around 120 over 80 for a number of weeks now sometimes down to 112 over 75. Not bad for a 56 year old  and I can honestly say this is down to not eating bread, pasta cakes etc ,. Each time I have introduced those into my diet up went my blood pressure !

Try giving up the wheat products for a fortnight ,it might help you too.
