Random Bleeding

I have been on the pill since i was 17... I usually take it right through so i dont have to have a period more times than i should to be honest. But recently i seem to be having random bleeding.. only ever happens now and again about 3 times through out the month... and it happened after sex once... Im not sure if its just my body telling me i need to have a break of if its telling mr something else.. but this has neevr happend to me before.. Can anyone help me?? am i just panacking for no reason

    Hi Karen, amy breakthrough bleeding should be investigated.  If you're on the mini pill, then this is quite normal but if it's the other type, then it's not so normal.

    Either way, a trip to your GP should put your mind at rest.  Take care x

    Thank you Gen... i keep thinking its my body telling me i need to have the break you actually should have.. we have a nurse where i work so im going to speak to her see what she thinks... then after that pay my Doc a visit i think... I have at this moment in time stopped taking my pill as of  yesterday so i could have my break and see if this is the problem and hope it stops but if not then there seems to be something else?

    i get the pains before it happens aswel which makes me think it is that? but god knows

      Hi Karen, I stopped taking the mini pill a couple of weeks ago because I've been on it, and the other type, for over twenty years.  I had a normal period last week and it felt better to be 'normal' again.

      Get your GP to give you a check over, always better to be safe, it may well be that there's a better alternative for you x
