Hello all, I’m reaching out to an online forum because since March 2018 I have been waking up in the morning with random bruises that appear out of no where. I have been to countless doctors and specialists trying to figure out the issue but it all turns up with nothing. My blood results are all completely normal, platelet counts and functions are normal, iron levels-normal, etc etc. it’s been a mystery for months. I’m constantly weak and fatigued. Last week was the first week in a few months i noticed the bruising wasn’t as bad but once again they’re bad. They appear frequently on my lower back, upper thighs on the front back and sides as well as on the outside of my arms. After seeing the hematologist numerous times she’s finally decided to to let me go, she said she’s tested for everything under the sun and nothing comes up. I am 19 years old and female. Healthy , good diet and workout averagely. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I feel something is off an there has to be an answer. I am tired of being ashamed and having people stare at me and have people ask if I need them to call dhs or think I have some sort of cancer. I just don’t understand what is causing my frequent and random bruising. Here’s a link to pictures of different times of the bruising I have also noticed a bad rash kind of all over my body as well.

what about vitamin c? C deficiency is known to be related to easy bruising.

Yes vitamin c levels are normals. They even prescribed me to take 500 mg of vitamin C and 2,000 mg of vitamin D to take everyday to see if that would help but I’ve been taking them since March now and nothing’s changed

I don’t know why the link only pulls up one image I posted on imgur but there’s about 15 others posted pics in my album called medical that display the bruises over the past few months.

in what positions do you sleep? this only occurs during sleep at night?

When you workout do you lift weights?  That can cause bruising.

also think back to March, did anything happen in your life? anything stressful? did you take a trip anywhere? something must have changed in your life or environment for it to happen like it did.

Actually yes. I got impetigo for the first time and was treated for it and then it came back a second time. And I still today think I might have it because I have a slight skin rash an minor rash in my hand thatll crust over an resemble it.

Have your Vitamin K levels been checked? A lack of this vitamin causes random bruises.  Green leafy veg and Kiwi fruits and Avocados are good sources.

Have they tested you for glandular fever, or some other weird viruses, or if you have travelled o'seas, being in the care of a haemotogist they would test you for everything they can think of.

My son last year had a something very unusual, tested positive for glandular fever, but his symptoms were like yours not the regular symptoms, he was eventually admitted to hospital and put in isolation as his immune system collapsed completely, he recovered from that, discharged and a week later his platelets hit 12000, re-admitted and treated for another week in hospital, very very scary, as spleen huge, and they were starting to suggest it must be a cancer, but nothing came back with positive results and he did respond to meds if but slowly.

He is well again now and back at work, still has to have follow up MRI, as per request from haemotogist, and still seems to not be well with the mildest virus, has had a couple of colds that really knock him around badly.

They were even reluctant to give him flu preventive injection, six months after his sickness, but it came down to not worth the risk of him catching flu, he had no bad effects from that injection, thank god.
