Random, unexplained bruising amongst various other symptoms..?

I'm a 27 year old female. Over the past couple of months-probably longer, I have been experiencing some symptoms that I can't seem to find a diagnosis for..

I am always dizzy, so much that I am quite used to the feeling of being dizzy and don't notice it as much unless it's really bad. I usually feel exhausted, have poor memory, I have joint pains particularly in my wrists, ankles and hips, I often get quite sharp, stabbing headaches behind my eyes or to the side of my head and I am always cold. What I can't understand most though is the unexplained bruising on the backs of my legs? They appear every so often, they are blue/purple and red in the middle. These bruises always appear in the same place in my legs and are definitely not caused by any injury. Also I get a tingling sensation in my legs but not all the time.

I have seen my doctor about the tingling and bruises and I had some blood tests to rule out DVT, the tests came back normal. I am going to see my GP in the new year about this but I wondered if anyone might know what these symptoms relate to or have the same?

I've heard that excessive bruising can be due to a vitamin deficiency?

Is the bruising from where you sit? I used to bruise easily and sometimes would mark just from seating.

Has the GP seen the bruises? if not get someone to take a pic when they appear!

Of course not everything might be related.

Re the headaches are you drinking plenty of water? What about keeping a diary to see if anything you do or eat brings them on?

Have you had a blood count done including a thyroid test? Some of those symptoms are classic for an underactive thyroid.

There is info on this site about thyroid problems including:

Some of your symptoms could be explained by medication you may take, including some contraceptive tablets. Your doctor or local pharmacist will be able to advise you if this is the case. Unexplained bruising can be caused by a number of things, and requires really for a doctor to confirm any diagnosis.

I suffer from some kind of arthritis, I had all the same symptoms and at first I thought it might have been something to do with that as I get the same brusie in the same spot in the same shape on my arm just before a flare up! I know this is a late reply like but I've only just kind of clocked on to the bruising before flare ups? My specialist said its nothing to worry about but I'm still confussed on what it could be? They don't know either? rolleyes

Hi Twiggs, I know I'm really late but...I've been experiencing the same symptoms that seem to be worsening. I was wondering what the doctors have told you?

Google search HMSA, EDS Hypermobility and Fibromyalgia. Frequently misdiagnosed, with symptom sounding similar to those you mentioned!

I have several friends with EDS and Fribromyalgia, which is why I'm suggesting this smile

I suffer from fibro and hypermobility and have all these symptoms and some. Now im waiting on an MRI to check for anything else as my physio and GP think somethings been missed. Keep pushing for answers, take note of what they are testing you for and if everything is coming back clear ask to see a specialist. Dont let them fob you off ! How are you getting on now?

    Regards

These are very similar symptoms to those that I have had. Took 10 years of doctors before being diagnosed with Sle lupus and reynauds. Try to get into a rheumatologist!
