Ranitidine and feeling unwell
Posted , 6 users are following.
I had a spell on omeprazole for constant indigestion, which didn’t suit me. I was then put on ranitidine whilst awaiting endoscopy and been on it for 8 weeks. Not had camera yet.
In the last week I’ve felt really unwell on it, at least I think it’s the medication making me feel ill.
I have lots of bloating and just feel that my stomach isn’t digesting food properly. Also constipated.
Another problem is feelings of anxiety. Feel like food is remaining in my stomach for too long.
Would appreciate advice on how come off the ranitidine. Can I cease taking it or need to gradually come off it.
Thanks

I had a blood test and haemoglobin was normal, so they didn’t think I had ulcer or h pylori.
I’m having to wait several more weeks for my endoscopy, so unsure how to get the checks done, as no one seems interested, especially my GP.
Unfortunately the acid tummy problems is making me anxious and I’m even having palpitations now. I’m a cancer survivor nearly 6 years now, but they don’t think my gastric problems are related, but understandably, I’m anxious. I’ve not been fast tracked as they don’t consider it urgent.
Thinking about ordering a h pylori test online to do at home.
To be honest, I’ve lost all faith in our health service!

Is it the Gastroenterologist doing the Endoscopy?
If not get a specialist. If they are demand the test why else are there. They problem is the dont understand that answers in any direction lead to somewhere and also it is less stress on you the patient. Drink water with a ph 8 and up. And coconut water is good also. Baking Soda in a glass of water also helps. Get that pylori test done its important
