Rapid heartbeat with Zoloft

I’ve been on Zoloft for about 10 days now at 25mg. I also take 1.5mg of klonopin in the morning for almost 3 years. I’ve been getting a lot of anxiety and they only reason I started this med was to help me get off klonopin as soon Zoloft was fully in my system. I fell like giving up anxiety is so much worse! Will this ever stop sad

25mg is a very small dose...... not sure it will work so I think it's your anxiety giving you problems, not the medicine.  You may need to increase, what does your doctor suggest?

Well since I’m so sensitive to side effects I had to start half a pill for seven days. And then take a whole for seven days which is the 25 mg. And then he wants me to take one and a half for the rest of the time. But I am afraid to go up because I feel like it’s just gonna make my anxiety worse.

I did have two beers last night which was definitely not a good idea. I think it made it worse. I’ll stay away from that for a while

When I had a glass of wine pretty near the beginning of taking sertraline I really regretted it because it made me feel quite nauseous. It is also a depressant of course, so can make anxiety worse.

I really would increase the dose in line with what your doctor suggests as you will probably not improve on such a low dosage. He may well increase it further in the near future....

      Good luck.
