Rapid Increase in Moles Recently

So I've always had more moles than the average person, mostly all on sun-exposed areas. But recently I feel as though new moles have been popping up all over the place, particularly over the past few months. There have been 3 separate instances now where I've suddenly noticed what I believe to be a new mole, with a red swollen base. The inflammation heals after only a day or two, but the new mole remains. Now I can't say for sure if these moles are new, or if I only noticed them due to an underlying zit or something, but to develop 3 over a short period like this without prior history seems weird. This had gotten me thinking and so I recently performed a thorough self skin examination and I've found many new moles that I wasn't aware of before. One particular area of interest is the penis and scrotum. Now, this is not an area that has ever seen the light of the sun and yet there has to be at least 40 moles on my external genitalia. One of these moles is larger than the head of an eraser, one is not circular, but none of them are dark black or raised. Many of these appear new to me, as in they've appeared within the last few months. I'm just not sure if this is something I should be concerned about or if its just something like dysplastic nevus syndrome. Any ideas?

Definitely see a dermatologist, better to be safe than sorry. My dad had a mole with a white ring around it, went to his GP who dismissed it and said it was nothing. Eight months later he died of melanoma, if only he would have gone to a dermatologist. I don't want to scare you or say that's even what you're seeing, but you need a specialist.
