Rapid vision loss due to blepharitis

I've been having rapid vision loss after contacting blepharitis about 10 months ago.  Last year in August, when blepharitis symptoms showed up, my vision got really bad out of nowhere.  And until January this year, my vision stayed around the same.  But for the last 5 months, my vision started to get worse like every month.

Literally once every month, I can see some vision decrease.  This is just terrible.  My doctor said the vision loss is so small I souldn't worry about it, but now I have hard time reading things because my vision got so much worse.  Do you think I would get back my vision once my blepharitis conditions get better? That's what my doctor said, but there's no sign whatsoever that my vision will get better and it keeps getting worse.

I can't see any doctor right now because I'm having some problem with my insurance and have to wait few months.  I'm seriously afraid just when this vision loss will stop and if I eventually might go blind.

If you are sure it's vision loss rather than blurry  then it's worth checking the problem out further once your insurance allows you to. It might be more than Bleph but still not serious or permanent damage. If your ophthalmologist has checked your eyes for other possible health problems and given you the all clear as far as his training allows then you may want to see another eye specialist. You say you use a computer a lot so are you using eye drops for dry eyes? The light from your screen also may aggravate your eyes and cause severe eye strain. When using a computer we don't blink normally so try blinking 100 times every quarter of an hour as this helps lubricate the eyes. A good exercise for anyone with Bleph.  It took me about a year to get my Bleph under control and my sight back to normal so don't lose heart. I still have problems with photo sensitivity which I think I shall just have to live with. Good luck.

It's just not normal for your vision to keep going down.... If it were me I would not wait for the insurance and I would find another Ophtalmologist pronto.

I to am having terrible problems regarding the returning of discomfort in the right eye and vision imparement of the right eye . Generaly my blepth is "undercontrol" . Most mornings after the morning cleansing my near sight is actually better without my glasses ( arms length ) but then rapidly deteriates as the day goes by even if I haven't done any more reading .

It's  as though you need different prescriptions throughout the day. As the day goes on the right eye becomes increasingly useless and tired at near reading distance 18" to say about 8ft .

I have had exactly your symptoms myself, it's my right eye too.. I went through a period of having massive discomfort In my right eye, it felt tired and felt like had a pressure or weight tied to it..sometimes I would need to go to sleep for it to go away. but I went to my optometrist and she couldn't find nothing wrong or any changes to be honest after about a week or so it went away. Also I'm currently having the visual effects evan as I write this now, the way you explained is what I feel too with the sight Changing though out the day, but I went back to my optometrist today and she done a full eye test and my sight is still 20/20 with no changes anywhere in my eye so I'm guessing it's just another symptom of the mgd and hopefully with disappear like the aching sensation did

Mine is just vision loss. I again had some vision in the last 1-2 weeks. And now I actually get dizzy whenever I read things. It has gotten so bad. Just 2 months ago I was able to read things but now words look so dizzy and confusing. I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm actually putting some honey into my eyes for treatment. Do you guys think that's possibly causing the vision loss?

I really wouldn't put anything in your eyes until you know what you are dealing with.

have you been tested for glaucoma? If not I think you need testing for that now. It is not a condition that can be delayed.  It needs immediate testing and if you're found to have glaucoma, immediate treatment.

i don't have any evidence that blepharitis causes sight loss. It can make vision blurred but it should not cause any significant loss.

i really think you need to see a doctor ASAP.

Ok heres one for you to explore. Please read up on occular roseacea. I probably spelled it wrong. You dont have to have the skin condition to have it and it greatly can impact your vision. Xx
