Rash as well as pain in joints

Hello,

I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter who is nearly 17. Around a week ago, just before she started her major exams she started to develop a rash around her hairline which then spread across her body, changing and growing from raised spots to large circles and then a larger joined up rash, which then died down and came up in other areas. The doctor thought it most likely to be PR, and presribed Antihistamine to help with the itch. The rash is starting to reduce but instead she is finding that her limbs and joints are incredibly sore - this started with her shoulder being so painful she couldn't lift her arm and then that has reduced and moved to her knees and now her other shoulder. Has anyone else experienced these painful joint symptoms with the rash?  We are hoping it dies down in time but it is such a tough thing to be dealing with at the same time as her exams (no doubt the stress of the exams doesn't help or has caused this).

Thank you.

Many peole have reported joint pain- intermittent and not all at the sam etime. Another odd tat people have reported is toothache, again, not all, just random. Many have gone to a dentist and been told there is no known cause- nothing the dentist can see.

I hope your daughter's PR leaves in a hurry! I had it, and am so glad it is gone.

Thank you for your reply. That's really helpful. Oddly enough, she has had toothache too but assumed her wisdom teeth were coming in.

Her rash has almost gone but over the weekend the pain in her joints became so excruciating img that we were sent to the hospital to be checked out. No conclusions drawn other than blood tests didn't find anything really nasty. Sounds like she'll just have to be patient and let it run its course.

      Thanks for your assurance.
