Rash on Glans
Posted , 3 users are following.
Hi, I have a rash that appears on the glans of the penis. The rash lasts typically between 15minutes to 48hrs maximum. Varies on different areas all over the glans. No pain, no itching, no discharge from penis. Only been diagnosed with enlarged prostate, and have restricted urine flow.
The rash appeared approximately 6 weeks after unprotected oral sex.
Done all STI tests, all negative except hsv1 which doctor said has been present for many years according to the type bloodtest conducted.
Situation been going for almost 6 months, rash flares up after shower, and masturbation.
Can anyone please advise as Dr says its nothing to worry about.

A picture of 2 weeks ago, showing variance in rash. Lasted 20 minutes after shower. No new shower gel or change in hygiene routine. Shower twice a day.

have you had cold sores before? from
my understanding of herpes there is no way to tell when you got it, igg levels dont even show this.
I have rash/redness on my glans, same situation as you after unprotected oral. Only positive sti was hsv1. Never had coldsores so my theory is i caught this from the oral and irritated my pudendal nerve.

Hi Wes, thank you for the info. Yes, I have had coldsores before. Is it possible for you to share some pictures. Also, does your rash appear all of a sudden and dissappear as quickly? Friction/heat seems to be the igniter. How long after your oral experience did the rash start?

different all the time but think mine has to be herpes related. only think i can think off.
Glans are worse when erect, like too much blood goes to them, which is a sign of infection i guess.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I definately can relate to your 1st picture, as mine looks the same sometimes. I am sure mine os somehow herpes 1 related, but GP says it would then only appear when you experience an outbreak. My situation is like all the time.
Appreciate your input, please keep me posted of your condition improve.

Any other input to whether this condition is std related?

As mentioned the Dermatologist prescribed ProTopic 0,1% to be applied once a day at night time, and a repair cream SBR to be applied during the day, 4 to 6 times.
Been on the treatment for 4 weeks now, and showed significant improvement.

okay i might look in to that. I am starting pregablin for the nerve irritation. I need to pee more and constant tingling in that region. Nobody thinks it is herpes, but they have no other suggestions. i have had rashes in that region, but not typical herpes. glad you are getting stuff sorted, hope it works.
