i don't really have any idea what this is bit it looks like my late onset eczema when I first got it 3 years ago (I'm 71) except I had it pretty well all over. My GP was hopeless so I had to go to a private skin clinic. They treated it with Dermovate ) a prescription only steroid ointment, then Elocon ' slightly weaker steroid, but also application twice a day of emollients Balneum Plus (cheapest on eBay) and after 30 mins 50:50 aqueous paraffin. Need the doctor for the steroids but could try the emollients first.

Some years ago, I developed a rash which no one could identify. I changed my washing powder [liquid] etc. Eventually because I had asked one manufacturer for help, they arranged for me to have patch testing. It was found that I am allergic to certain chemicals that are used in some washing powders/liquids

I now know what to avoid and have had few problems since.

I also use Dermovate cream and have to take oral steroids for other conditions.

See if you can have patch testing.

Yes good advice. I tried changing all washing stuff and using soap substitutes . Didn't work for me but might for you. I had a patch test, which cost me £500 near enough. Showed I was slightly allergic to cobalt which sounds innocuous but it is in blue things like jeans. Still think the 50:50 is worth s go.
